These soft almond biscuits (or amaretti) from Virginia have won award after award ever since they were first created in the late 1800s.
Since 1860, the small local business of Virginia has been making divine little almond biscuits in the Liguria region of northern Italy, in a town called Sassello. Over the past century and a half, Sassello has become synonymous with the biscuits. So much so, that the town's central square has been dubbed the 'Piazza of Virginia's Amaretti'.
What makes these almond biscuits stand out is the fact they're incredibly soft inside. They come in an iconic tin with historic branding. Each tin contains 220 grams of individually wrapped amaretti biscuits.
